Tickets on Sale Monday - Cash Only

 

Tickets for the Mid-Year Concert will go on Sale on Monday. 

You have 3 weeks to purchase these and they can also be purchased at the door on the day. 

Cash Only when purchasing tickets. This is due to making it easier for the mothers at the front desk during peak times and to reduce the paper work the PayPal account creates. 

Seating is not allocated and doors will open at 1pm on concert day. 

 

Adults - $10

Children (5-16yrs) - $5

 

·        When purchasing tickets at front desk you need to just give your child’s name which we will record alongside your ticket number.  

·        On Concert Day your need to show your ticket and a stamp given. The stamp will allow you to exit and re enter hall.

·        If someone has your ticket that is inside the hall they need to come out and give it to you. No Ticket No Entry. 

 

I have limited tights for sale also $12 if you would like to purchase this week.

MID YEAR CONCERT INFORMATION 2018 

 

The Mid-Year concert is held so family and friends can see what the Little Groovers have been up to through the first part of the year. It also allows the students to experience dancing in a performance, in front of an audience, in a friendly familiar non threatening atmosphere. Last of all, the main thing is to have fun!! This concert is not costumed but end of year will be. Please don’t be upset if your child does not dance. Some children take a little longer to feel comfortable getting up on stage and is very normal.

WELCOME TO TERM 1 OR 2

END OF YEAR CONCERT INFORMATION

 

The End of Year concert is held so family and friends can see what the Little Groovers have been up to through the year and give them their time to shine on the stage!. It also allows the students to experience dancing in a performance, in front of an audience, in a friendly familiar non-threatening atmosphere. Last of all, the main thing is to have fun!!

This concert will be costumed unlike the Mid-Year Concert.

 

Little Groovers Dance Co. will be Presenting:

“The Lost Troll”

Come on a Journey through the Sky, Sea and the Land where little Poppy goes on an adventure to find her family. Enjoy a magical afternoon where you will see all your little stars shine!!.

 

DATE: Saturday 25th November, 2017

TIME: 2:00pm Start

PLACE: Elanora Primary School Performing Arts Hall

 

WHAT TO BRING

  • Costume. Please be dressed in first costume. If have second costume place in costume bag (See below for more details).

  • Pink Ballet Tights

  • Pink Ballet Shoes

  • Tan Tap Shoes (if doing a Tap routine)

  • No bright coloured underwear as can be seen under costume.

  • Drink Bottle

  • Change of clothes. Children must be out of costume after concert.

                          

 

HAIR & MAKE-UP

  • Hair in a Bun with all hair slicked back of face. Some classes may be notified of different hairstyles. Will be advised sooner to concert.

  • Please no large colourful jewellery, hair clips, nail polish etc.  

  • Make-Up is optional but the kids do love it and adds to the excitement of the performance. It only needs to be applied lightly if at all.

Brown eye shadow

Blusher

Black Mascara/Eyeliner

Red/Pink Lipstick (Does not have to be bright red)

 

 COSTUMES

  • All costumes will be hired at $25 for first costume (Including bag and drink bottle) and then $20 for every costume after that. Prep Hours will have 2 Costumes as they are doing 2 routines.

  • You will receive the costume the week prior to the concert on photo week if the costume hire and fees has been paid.

  • Everyone will receive their costume in a Complementary Little Groovers Drawstring bag and Drink bottle with their name on it which hopefully will come in handy in the future.

  • COSTUMES CAN NOT BE HANDED OUT AND TAKEN HOME UNTILL THIS HAS BEEN PAID.

  • Place costume in a costume bag or old pillow case to keep protected.

  • Costumes need to be hand washed (unless stated not to wash) with wool/delicate detergent and line dried in shade as sun can fade some materials and returned to studio the next 2 weeks after the concert.

  • MUST BE RETURNED BY END OF TERM 8TH DECEMBER OR LATE FEE WILL APPLY. It is very time consuming to store costumes and to then restore late ones

  • All costumes need to be returned in same condition before school term finishes otherwise a fee will be charged.

  • Please when costumes go home make it a known rule that there is no eating in their costumes and they are to be looked after.

  • Please place them on a hanger to prevent extra creasing.

 

WHEN YOU ARRIVE ON CONCERT DAY

  • Performers arrive between 1:00pm & 1:30pm

  • Children need to go to designated dressing rooms (Either conference room in the hall or Classrooms located next to hall). There will be signs.

  • PLEASE NOTE IF YOUR CHILD IS IN A CLASSROOM YOU NEED TO RESPECT SCHOOL RULES. NO ONE IS TO DRAW ON BLACKBOARDS, USE EQUIPMENT, JUMPING ON TABLES ETC... There were a few incidents last year which we do not want to see again.

  • They will need a small bag with a drink bottle and their ballet/tap shoes in it which they will place in their classes designated area. They need to have first costume and shoes on first. There will be helpers but might be a good idea to start practising changing shoes on their own.

  • PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL SHOES AND ITEMS ARE LABELLED WITH CHILDS NAME.

  • Concert should go for approx. 1 hour 20 Mins

 

TICKETS

  • Tickets will go on Sale on 6th November at the Elanora Primary School Hall. Adults $10, Children (5-16Yrs) $5. Performers Free

  • Seats are not allocated.

  • SEATS ARE FOR ADULTS ONLY. Children will either sit on the floor in front of stage or on parents lap

  • It is appreciated if you can pre purchase tickets and will allow quicker entry on day.

  • Tickets will also be available for purchase on the day of the concert outside hall (cash only). .

  • On Concert Day your ticket will be torn and a stamp given. The stamp will allow you to exit and re enter hall.

CONCERT DVD

CONCERT DIGITAL DOWNLOAD

  • The Digital Download of the concert is being filmed by the same Professional Film Company Event HD who has filmed all the Little Groover Concerts.

  • He will be filming some footage of backstage, before and after the concert as well as the actual concert.

  • As most families know the children absolutely just love watching the concert and a precious memory to keep for all families

  • The concert DIGITAL Download will be $15 but every family has been invoiced for one. This is the only way to keep the cost down. Normally they would be $25 plus as not every family purchases one and as we are not a large school he would be unsure of how many would sell. $15 is extremely reasonable.  We did this last year and everyone was very happy with the quality and professionalism of the Download at such a low cost.

  • If anyone is extremely unhappy to pay this please let me know ASAP.

  • The Digital Download will allow for faster delivery and better quality. It can be shared instantly with friends and family and you are able to burn to USB or DVD.  (If you have any queries please contact me)

  • Please see attached flyer on how to access your video.

 

HOUSEKEEPING RULES ON CONCERT DAY

  • No food is to be eaten in the hall

  • Children must not keep coming in and out of performance. Once they enter hall they must sit for rest of performance.

  • The hall normally becomes very full and I ask of people when concert has started to please not talk. Previous concerts have been quite noisy with other spectators becoming upset with other people around them talking while their child is performing.

  • No Children to be running around the hall or on stage before or during concert.

 

 

WHATS HAPPENING AFTERWARDS

A BIT OF FUN!!

Anyone who does not have to rush off can stay for a $2.50 sausage sizzle, Free face painting & balloon twisting and a play in the playground. I will set up a table for anyone who would like to bring a plate of food to share, and we can have a bit of an after party!! (Please nothing that needs heating up & nothing with nuts.)

 

CLASSES ARE STILL ON FOR 2 WEEKS AFTER THE CONCERT

DATE: Week of 13th November – 16th November, 2017

In Normal Class Time

 

Most dance schools have a separate day for photos to be taken in costume and a separate day for a Dress Rehearsal.  As Little Groovers is about trying to keep it simple for everyone prior to the concert the children will receive their costume, have photos in the hall and run through their dances in costume. Each child will have an individual shot in each costume and a group shot. This will all happen in their class time for that week.

Please note no photos will be taken on Friday so Friday Tiny Tots will need to come on either Monday, Tuesday or Thursday for their photo shoot.  

 

  • I WILL NEED PARENTS TO HELP WITH CHILDREN GETTING CHANGED AND HELPING WITH HAIR AND MAKE UP.

  • They will need to have hair slicked back in a Bun (unless your class has a different hair style) optional light make-up.

  • They will also need their pink ballet tights and ballet/tap shoes.

  • Please make sure children don’t have bright nail polish, or pen marks, tattoos etc on skin. I know this is hard to avoid after school. I’ll make sure I have baby wipes!!

  • No parents to be in the photography area during photo shoots and

  • Definitely no taking of photos on phones while your child is having their shoot.

 

If you are able to come to dress your child and have them ready for photos for this class that would be appreciated. Last year some classes didn’t have many parents around which made it difficult to get children ready for their photo shoot.  

 

IMPORATANT INFORMATION REGARDING PHOTOS THIS YEAR

 

  • Photos will be taken by Robert Bale from Events HD. He is the same cleaver person who films the concert

  • PHOTOS - $20 per person, includes group photos.

  • We will be going completely digital this year, so all the photos taken of your child will be uploaded to your own password protected folder. The Passwords and links will be emailed out shortly after the week of the photo shoot has finished.

  • Please remember - that all photos will be uploaded, so there may be some good and bad in there, but you can decide on what you like.  Photo styles we are going for are (Posed / Head shot / Full length / Funny).

  • These photos can be printed or send to family without any addition costs, the photos are yours. They will remain in the folded for a period of 12months, so please download them to your computer.

  • PLEASE RETURN ENVELOPE ATTACHED TO THIS BOOKLET WITH $20 CASH TO THE FRONT DESK. No bank transfer to my account. Cash Only.

  • If there are any families that object to this please contact me ASAP.

  • If fees and costume hire has been paid costumes can be taken home on this day.

LAST WEEK OF TERM !!

 

Just a few messages before we break up for the school holidays on Friday.

 

  • Classes resume Tuesday 3rd October. Monday the 2nd is a public holiday so there are no classes.

Little Groovers always like to keep costs to a minimum.

Concert Tickets: Adults - $10, Children (5-16yrs) $5

Costume Hire for one Costume $25. Then an extra $20 for every costume after that. (This includes a drawstring bag and a Little Groovers Drink Bottle.)

Concert DVD Download - $15

 

  • Invoices for Term 4

Invoices for Term 4 will be emailed out and the end of this week. This is to give you as much notice to pay it. It is due week 5 of Term 4.

Costumes will not be handed out to students at end of term if payment has not been made.

Invoices will have the costume hire and download added to it

If you would like to make some part payments this is fine if you can please notify myself prior.

 

  • Classes

Students will be working very hard towards their end of year dances so please outside the curtains and in the foyer. The noise does travel.

Don’t forget Drink Bottles especially with the warmer weather heading our way.

You will receive an email in the coming week to be able to go onto my website and log into the parent info area. This is a page on my site which will have all the emails, concert notices, newsletters etc. If you missed an email or something you can now log onto the page and see all the information.

 

Also there is no dress up week this last week of term. I think all the Elanora School parents are a bit over finding dress ups with all the school events that have recently happened!!

I am moving in the school holidays so any emails etc. I receive from you may take me some time to respond.
